Ali’s early passion for cars was no surprise considering his very first childhood toys were die cast matchbox cars that his dad used to bring home as gifts. But the real fun began during his junior year of high school, when he started import tuning and recreationally racing his 1996 Integra GS-R. He eventually tired of drag racing, and moved on to more organized road racing at local tracks like ThunderHill Park and Infineon raceway, learning the art of car control, and finding a good racing line. Since then he hasn’t been able to get enough, attending various autocross and manufacturer events including BMW M School at BMW’s US headquarters in Spartanburg, South Carolina, where he was able to put M3’s, M5’s, M6’s, and M Coupes to the test in various driving exercises. Though he loves being behind the wheel of his 06 M5 and 07 Lamborghini Gallardo Nera, he also likes to watch the pros do their thing in Champ Car, IRL, and Formula One open wheel racing leagues.
